The Diploma in Supervision from the Link Centre complemented my Humanistic therapeutic style. I see the supervisor/supervisee relationship as integral and essential to any work we conduct with our clients. Just as we must foster a positive relationship with our clients, we must also model this in the supervision context. It is essential that a supervisor has as Mazzetti states an effective emotional contact with the supervisee to best support them with their client work. So as a supervisor I see my role as walking alongside the therapist and their client, observing the process, highlighting any blocks or parallels and supporting the process. I like working with supervisees as it is a chance for me to learn and develop as a therapist and often find myself using the techniques I hear about from others!
